The construction of 103 Colmore has moved on to external finishing touches including the new recessed plaza on Colmore Row and the installation of the 'Equinox' sculpture by John Pickering. Construction of 103 Colmore Row - July and August 2020

The structural steelwork has officially been constructed at the top of the building, with the elegant glass facade quickly catching up, and it's looking pristine. However, the best is yet to come!

As the pictures show, the steelwork has reached the top floor, with the buildings stylish facade rapidly coming along.

The next phase of development will see the design & manufacturing of the glass facade (Focchi Group) for the top floor lantern restaurant, where restaurateurs will benefit from 8 metre high ceilings & breath-taking 360o views of the city. We cannot wait!

The Construction of 103 Colmore Row - July 2020

103 Colmore Row is so close to structural completion now with one of the last beams being installed on 17th July. Here are various views of 103 Colmore Row in July 2020. Did you know that it is in direct line of sight of Castle Bromwich Hall? Ellliott has returned to the City Centre for the first time in over 100 days of lockdown and has got some close up views while in town.

103 Colmore Row claims to be 'Above all else', well it pretty much is now as it's on the top of the ridge above the Rea Valley where the city centre drops down towards Digbeth and Southside. The Construction of 103 Colmore Row - Our early June 2020 Update

The steel structure has now reached the top end of the core and is almost at the stage of topping out. Elsewhere, the two outer 'slabs' are now at full height.

The Construction of 103 Colmore Row - March & April (2020) update

An average of 17 glass panels a day will be fitted onto this new, 26-storey, Birmingham landmark. This update shows the progress made on site in March and April, with the structural steelwork superstructure continuing its upward rise, closely followed by the beautiful glazing facade. Already a new Birmingham Gem!

What's happening at 103 Colmore Row - take our January 2020 update

Take this post for a superb picture update of 103 Colmore Row from Birmingham's People with Passion Daniel, Tom & Karl. Steelwork continues its upward trajectory to the ninth floor, plus an exclusive first glimpse at the glass cladding, which was delivered a week ago. Update by our follower of construction Mr Stephen Giles.

Work has re-commenced on site soon after the well-earned Christmas and New Year break.

Steelwork is back on the rise, now reaching levels 8 & 9, but without doubt the biggest news saw the first batch delivery of glass panels delivered on Wednesday (January 15th).

Having arrived from Italy, the panels have been designed by the Italian firm, Focchi; a specialist in window and curtain walling systems. 

This latest update shows the fantastic progress being made on site, but also shows an exclusive first glimpse of the cladding.

The Construction of 103 Colmore Row - October 2019

Significant progress has been made on the lower steel structure for 103 Colmore Row with the vertical setbacks now clearly visible on the Newhall Street side of the build and the large overhang at street level visible on Colmore Row.

New to this update on the progress at 103 Colmore Row is the installation of four new 20 metre tall columns overlooking Colmore Row.

Weighing up to 20 tonnes, the structure will soon form the entrance to the new winter garden, the main architectural feature of the new development, as seen in the above render.

The first concrete core of 103 Colmore is now visable on the skyline (just) at the 8th floor, this will be one tall thin addition to the city centre!

Massive development at 103 Colmore Row in Birmingham is back on track!

The Landmark office development at 103 Colmore Row is back on track after a brief delay in construction.

103 Colmore Row is one of a kind.

Standing at an imposing 26 storeys (108m from its lowest peak and 105.5m at its highest), it will become the city’s tallest office building once complete.

But not only that, it also takes the crown of being the largest office under construction anywhere outside of London, showing once more that Birmingham continues to be a hugely attractive city to invest and do business in.

Sterling Property Ventures and Rockspring Property Investment Managers LLP teamed up in 2014 (until the latter were acquired by Patrizia in late 2017) to bring this project forward, that is until a top London investor entered the scene recently, which saw a brief pause on construction.

Tristan Capital Partners acquired Patrizia’s interest in the site and will now work with development manager Sterling PV to commence this eagerly-awaited development.

Work has now officially recommenced with work on the concrete core set to rise this month.

WHAT IS IT WE'RE GETTING?

Designed by architects Doone Silver Kerr, and currently being built by BAM Construction, 103 will boast 223,631 sq ft (square foot) of office space over 20 floors, 7,665 sq ft of restaurant space on the ground and top two floors, a winter garden, 18th floor terrace and multi-purpose business lounges. 

In fact, the top two floors will see a signature double-height ‘lantern’ bar and restaraunt, offering panoramic views across the ever evolving Birmingham skyline for everyone to enjoy.

It will be lit up like a beacon at night, ensuring that this majestic building is visible from miles around the city.
