In brief

Citadel Chambers will be enhanced internally and externally to deliver high-quality flexible office accommodation – providing a series of affordable, modern workspaces and state-of-the-art technology.

Set behind its beautiful Victorian façade on 190 Corporation Street, Citadel Chambers - built in 1891 and used as the HQ for Salvation Army - will undergo a sensitive refurbishment and conversion to all four floors into high-spec office space, all arranged around a vast central atrium space.

All communal areas created will provide ample circulation space that will create a sense of community. Meeting rooms, co-working spaces, studios, booths and laptop bars will all be created.

The main visual change of the Citadel will be the introduction of a new sliding glazed entrance door to Corporation Street, a new illuminated signage box, and the refurbishment to all windows and doors.

To create a welcoming environment, an additional commercial unit will be introduced to the ground floor, with all the other existing units all remaining.

However, the former Pizza Express unit – vacant – will be restructured to form part of Citadel’s new reception area, and the former Apache Bar – also vacant – will be converted into office accommodation.
